Do I Trust You Lord? YES!!

Why do we sing??

Psalms 59:16: “I will sing of your strength; I will sing aloud of your steadfast love in the morning. For you have been to me a fortress and a refuge in the day of my distress.”

James 5:13: “Is anyone cheerful? Let him sing praise."

Psalms 9:2: “I will be glad and exult in you; I will sing praise to your name, O Most High.”

Lyrics                         &                         Lesson

Sometimes my little heart can't understand,

What's in Your will, what's in Your plan,

So many times I'm tempted to ask You why.

But I can never forget it for long,

Lord, what You do could not be wrong.

So I believe You even when I must cry.

Do I trust You, Lord? Does the river flow?

Do I trust You, Lord? Does the north wind blow?

You can see my heart, You can read my mind.

And You've got to know, I would rather die...

Than to lose my faith in the One I love,

Do I trust You, Lord? Do I trust You?

I know the answers, I've given them all.

But suddenly now, I feel so small...

Shaken down to the cavity in my soul.

I know the doctrine and theology...

But right now they don't mean much to me.

This time there's only one thing I've got to know.

Do I trust You, Lord? Does the robin sing?

Do I trust You, Lord? Does it rain in spring?

You can see my heart, You can read my mind...

And You got to know I would rather die,

Than to lose my faith in the One I love.

Do I trust You, Lord? Do I trust You?

I will trust You, Lord, when I don't know why...

I will trust You, Lord, till the day I die.

I will trust You, Lord, when I'm blind with pain...

You were God before and You'll never change.

I will trust You, I will trust You

I will trust You, Lord

I will trust You, I will trust You

I will trust You, Lord

I will trust You, I will trust You

I will trust You, Lord

“Do WE Trust the Lord?”

Check our ‘thoughts’ with The Word

Trust in the LORD with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding (Proverbs 3:5)

Call upon Him as the Leader of our lives

“Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out!” Romans 11:33

“in all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight” (Proverbs 3:6)

“Evening, morning, and noon I cry out in distress, and he hears my voice. ” (Psalm 55:17)

Don’t overestimate ourselves

1 John 2: 16 For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world.

“Flee the evil desires of youth, and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord out of a pure heart.”

 (2 Timothy 2:22)

Put God First (not just in wealth)

“Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing, and your vats will brim over with new wine.”

(Proverbs 3:9–10)

“My son, do not despise the LORD's discipline and do not resent his rebuke” (Proverbs 3:11)

“The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure. Who can understand it?”

(Jeremiah 17:9)

The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit

“But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.” (John 14:26)

“And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” (Matthew 28:20b)
